Wai'tuMusic (waitumusic.com) is a music industry platform operated by EventMappers Ltd, registered in Trinidad and Tobago. References to "we", "us", or "our" in this policy refer to EventMappers Ltd trading as Wai'tuMusic.

• Account data — name, email address, and password when you register.
• Profile data — artist bio, genre, social links, press photos, and performance history that you voluntarily add.
• Booking & transaction data — booking requests, contract terms, payment records, and invoices.

• Communications — messages you send through the platform, support requests, and newsletter subscriptions.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your artist or business account.
• To facilitate bookings, contracts, and payments between artists and venues.
• To operate OppHub, CuratorHub, Studio Tools, and other platform features.
• To send transactional emails (booking confirmations, contract notifications, payment receipts).
• To send marketing and newsletter emails where you have opted in.
• To detect fraud, enforce our Terms of Service, and comply with legal obligations.
• To improve the platform based on aggregate usage analytics.

4. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)

Where applicable, we process your data under the following legal bases:

• Contract — processing necessary to fulfil bookings, contracts, and payments.
• Legitimate interests — platform security, fraud prevention, and product improvement.
• Consent — marketing communications and optional analytics cookies.
• Legal obligation — tax records and regulatory compliance.

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only in these circumstances:

• With other platform users — your public artist profile (name, bio, genre, photos) is visible to venues and fans as part of the directory.
• With service providers — payment processors (Stripe), cloud hosting, email delivery, and analytics tools that are contractually bound to protect your data.
• For legal compliance — when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users.
• Business transfers — if EventMappers Ltd is acquired or merges, your data may transfer to the new entity under equivalent privacy protections.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Booking records and contracts are retained for a minimum of 7 years for legal and tax compliance. You may request deletion of your account at any time (see Section 8); contractual records required by law will be retained for their legally mandated period.

We use session cookies (essential for login and CSRF protection), analytics cookies (to understand usage patterns), and preference cookies (to remember your settings). Non-essential cookies require your consent. You can manage your cookie preferences in your browser settings at any time.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify registered users by email. Continued use of Wai'tuMusic after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
